Neuro-Lingusitic Programming

Neuro-Lingusitic Programming or NLP is often simply defined as “communication and change techniques,” and it is so much more…it is a way of understanding our personal map of the world, it shares ways to work with ourselves at a deep level for ecological and lasting change, it allows us to understand others in a new way and improves our way of relating to others.

I was immersed in all things NLP from 1984 – 1988, having worked as the General Office Manager for NLP Comprehensive (aka NLP Colorado), attending 40 days of training throughout 1986-1988, culminating in the embodiment of NLP awareness and methodology, and certification as a Master Practitioner.

I can say there is never a time that I am not “using” NLP, given that as a trained practitioner it is a way of being in the world that you don’t really turn off, but does require conscious attention to employ in a rich and powerful way.  I “intentionally” practice NLP with clients who hire me for NLP focused-only sessions and with coaching clients, as it shows up as relevant to assisting them to achieve their desired coaching outcome, and given permission is granted.

Enneagram

The Enneagram Personality Typing System is often simply defined as a “personality typing system” and it is so much more…  The Enneagram is a system based on ancient wisdom, its name is defined by “Ennea” for nine and “gram” for diagram; “a symbol of unity and diversity, change and transformation,” according to The Enneagram Institute. The diagram upon which the system is graphically displayed carries meaning for use of the system; the path for integration, as well as  for  disintegration.  There are nine personality types, one of which each of us “live from” most of the time.  Once we self-assess the type we demonstrate most, we can use the system to help us understand our typical “way of being” in the world and clarity on the motivation behind our behavior.  We learn the specific path toward integration including self-awareness, psychological development and spiritual growth based on our way of being in the world.

I was introduced to the Enneagram system during my coach training in 2005 as part of my own coaching program.  It made enough of an impact on me that I’ve continued my experience and eduction.  I’ve received the equivalent of 13 days of classes, workshops and training in working with the system.  I’ve enjoyed learning from both the Narrative Tradition where you learn through direct experience of individuals expressing their type, type-based group work and basic system education.  I’ve also had great training experience in learning and working with the synergies of coaching with the Enneagram system.

Ever since 2005, the Enneagram has been an essential part of my personal work, assisting in opening my awareness, healing, personal and spiritual growth.  At the same time, I’ve learned a great deal and assisted others by intentionally working with my coaching clients using the system, as it shows up as relevant to assist them to achieve their desired coaching outcome, and given permission is granted.

Yoga Philosophy

Yoga is most commonly known in western culture as a physcial fitness activity, which when it combines mindfulness, breathing and physical movement, bring health and wellness benefits to life, yet it is so much more…  The practice of yoga is an ancient art and science dedicated to creating the union of mind, body and spirit.  The benefits of which are balance and equanimity so as to live in peace, good health and harmony with the greater whole.

I began attending yoga classes in 1999 for the physical benefits, but found myself transported into comforting, sacred space which over time began to shift my life experience.  Since then, I have “practiced yoga” on and off throughout the years, intermixed with classes of Tai Chi and a touch into Qigong. I spent time in self-study and classes for Buddhism, specifically Mahayana of Tibetan Buddhism.

I finally committed to a year-long Hatha Yoga Studies/Teacher Training course in May 2010-May 2011 for the purpose of immersing myself in the “spiritual aspect” of yoga, an education and experience of hatha yoga philosophy.  I chose not to complete the final of three courses, focused on “teacher training” to be certified for yoga instruction.

As I continue my spiritual development, I deepen my awareness of the similarity of practice and purpose behind Hatha yoga philosophy, coaching principles, and the Enneagram system.  My intentionaly use of each of these systems simultaneously I believe has enhanced the personal growth I’ve experienced.

I welcome the opportunity to professionally support individuals along their path of development using yoga philosophies.

Consulting Services

If you have read about my work, education and other life experiences, the highlights on this website of my coaching, labyrinth, NLP, Enneagram and Yoga Philosophy experience, you begin to have awareness about what I bring into a consulting relationship.

But it isn’t just about what I bring, it is equally about what you, and your business, bring to the consulting relationship, and what you want out of it.

It is about what we create together in-the-moment of our work together.  I very much incorporate a synergy of what I have learned, the resources I have access to and the wisdom of presence and compassion.

I welcome having a conversation about your needs, your desired outcome from a Consulting Relationship and the ways in which I can contribute to your success in achieving your goals.

My Vision is a world in which humans live in harmony with the universe as mindful, integrated beings…
